“Made in the USA” revival?
Several inventors I’ve run into in the past year have almost embarrassingly confessed that their product has to be made overseas (China) to be competitive in the marketplace.
There is a strong desire among the grass roots of America to see manufacturing return to a level of prominence once celebrated in this great nation, not only as a matter of national pride, but also to eliminate the trade imbalances that are destroying our wealth.
Well, it could just be that help is on the way. According to a recent study published by the Boston Consulting Group, rising wages and a strong yuan (China’s currency) are making China a less attractive place to do business. Add in higher U.S. productivity rates, shipping costs, a shorter supply chain and fewer headaches from intellectual property issues, and you have a recipe for manufacturers to reconsider their foreign investments.
With VaccuFlex™, we’re trying to do our part in revitalizing U.S. manufacturing. Our injection molded rubber caps are made by PCM Custom Molding, Inc. in Mesa, Ariz., and the vinyl tubing we use is made in Ohio. The units are packaged at the Marc Center in Mesa.
We at VaccUFlex are just trying to keep the American dream alive and support our local economy.
